Olga Goldshlag is an award-winning dedicated teacher, an educational innovator, a source of inspiration to her students, a leader for her colleagues and a community volunteer.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA, March 25, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Olga Goldshlag has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Ms. Goldshlag is an award-winning dedicated teacher, an educational innovator, a source of inspiration to her students, a leader for her colleagues and a community volunteer. Over decades of service, she inspired many generations of students to pursue careers in engineering and science by developing their critical thinking skills and imbuing her students with love for computer science and mathematics. Ms. Goldshlag deepens the students' understanding of mathematics and inspires them to apply it to science, biology, computer science and solving real-world challenges. An expert in mathematics and computer science, she developed multiple curricula and innovative lesson materials for pupils and adult learners. She conducted live master classes and published several methodological works on teaching.

Ms. Goldshlag encourages learners of all stripes, whether they are students or working professionals, to learn and develop themselves with the goal of becoming well-rounded and accomplished individuals, rather than simply learning to complete a degree or achieve financial success. Ms. Goldshlag prides herself on her ability to build long-lasting relationships with students and colleagues, and she treasures the communication she keeps with the lives that she has touched. She considers learning a mutual process, as the questions she receives often spur her to seek new answers. As a result, through this mutual development, the knowledge of both herself and her students and colleagues can be raised, and this is one of the best parts of working as an educator, in her opinion.

In addition to her teaching career, Ms. Goldshlag contributes to her community by volunteering for Junior Achievement as a financial literacy educator. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she conducted weekly online lessons for vulnerable third- and fourth-graders, helping them stay motivated and on track with their math studies.

Ms. Goldshlag earned a master's degree in mathematics and computer science from the University of Electronic and Radio Engineering in Moscow, Russia. She obtained teacher certification from the Moscow Department of Education and launched her teaching career as a teacher and, later, a vice principal at Lyceum No. 1560 in Moscow. In this organization, teachers work hand-in-hand with university educators to pass knowledge down to students, usually for a STEM program. As a testament to the efficacy of this program, her students have won prizes in international competitions that were organized by Intel and The Lego Group. Ms. Goldshlag became Moscow's Teacher of the Year in 1996, which honored her for her educational and administrative achievements.

During the 15 years following her immigration to the United States in 2000, Ms. Goldshlag excelled as a vocational computer school instructor. Concurrently, since 2007 she has worked as a private mathematics tutor. She adopted and promoted the use of Singapore Mathematics teaching curriculum in California. She helps talented students and slow learners alike to discover the beauty of mathematics. She encourages and trains talented students for Math League Contests and Kangaroo Math International Competitions.

In 2020, Ms. Goldshlag became a mathematics teacher for St. John of San Francisco Orthodox Academy, where she teaches all middle and high school grades. Additionally, she is certified by the U.S. College Board and teaches AP Statistics. Ms. Goldshlag develops new math curricula and lesson materials emphasizing interdisciplinary assignments, and coordinates a pilot project for integrating technology into individualized learning.

Ms. Goldshlag dreamed of becoming an educator from a young age. She credits her success to her passion for mathematics and pedagogy, as well the support she receives from her family. In her spare time, Ms. Goldshlag enjoys listening to classical music, attending the theater to see dramatic and operatic performances, cooking and exploring new places in nature.

In the future, she aspires to write a book about motivation and removing barriers to teaching mathematics.
