In order to prepare for his career, Mr. Renwick pursued an education at Stanford University, from which he earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1956 and a Bachelor of Laws in 1958. From 1959 to 1966, he completed service in the United States Army Reserves, rising from the rank of lieutenant to captain. Notably, Mr. Renwick has been admitted to practice law by the Supreme Court of the United States, the United States District Court for the Eastern, Northern, Central and Southern Districts of California, the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and the State Bar of California.
With a plethora of knowledge at his disposal, Mr. Renwick authored "Quicker, Better, Cheaper: How to Save Litigation Costs and Get Better Results by Shortening the Litigation Cycle" in 2014, "Closing Argument: Can Task Billing Be a Cure for the Unhappiest Job in America?" in 2013, multiple editions of "Survey on Oil & Gas—California" from 2012 to 2014 and "Back to the Future: A Strategy for Reducing Litigation Costs Through Early Mediation" in 1997. A fellow of both the American College of Trial Lawyers and the American Bar Foundation, he was appointed as the president of the Chancery Club from 1992 to 1993.
