Since 2021, Dr. Haynes has excelled as the founding partner and principal of RD – Raison d'etre Consultancy Group, a global human capital consulting firm specializing in diversity, equity and inclusion through; talent acquisition, employee engagement, leadership development, multicultural marketing & communications, learning and training, compliance and supplier diversity and research and analysis, providing clients with better brands, products and services and a differentiated customer experience. The firm's clients include corporate, government, academia, philanthropy, small business and non-profit.
Immediately prior to establishing RD Consultancy Group, in 2020, Dr. Haynes, from 2020 through 2021, excelled as the senior vice president and global chief diversity and inclusion officer at AmerisourceBergen, (NYSE:ABC) a leading global healthcare solutions company, ranked number #8 on the Fortune 500 largest corporations in America, with $214 billion dollars in revenue and 42,000 employees in over 50 countries. In this inaugural role, he was charged with establishing a diverse and inclusive strategy, where management meets the cultural needs of all employees, patients, customers, and partners.
Dr. Haynes began his corporate career at Sprint, where he was employed as an applications consultant and diversity manager until 2001. Subsequently, he garnered experience at AT&T from 2002 to 2011 as a service delivery project manager, manager of network support and senior manager of diversity affairs. From 2012 to 2020, Dr. Haynes flourished as the vice president of diversity and inclusion at Highmark Health prior to being appointed to the position of chief diversity officer.
Dr. Haynes remains involved in his field by maintaining membership with the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), the National Association of Health Services Executives, the National Black MBA Association and 100 Black Men of America. Alongside his vocational pursuits, he allocates time to participate on the board of directors for the American Association of People with Disabilities and as director of the board of directors of tBrexa BioSciences, Inc., since 2016 and 2018, respectively. In addition, Dr. Haynes has been a guest lecturer at numerous universities, conferences, symposiums and think tanks throughout the United States and abroad.
Dr. Haynes obtained a Master of Science in management from Boston University in 2009, and a Master of Public Administration from the City University of New York's Baruch College and a Doctor of Law and Policy from Northeastern University both in 2012.
A U.S. Army veteran, Dr. Haynes served active duty as a specialist E-4, in the Army field artillery unit both domestically and overseas. He was also a member of the Georgia National Guard. Looking toward the future, he hopes to continue to teach, lecture and serve as a consultant regarding diversity, equity and inclusion.
