Driven by the desire to achieve much in his professional life, Dr. Wang relocated to the United States of America from Taiwan to pursue a formal education in 1960. With a Bachelor of Science from National Taiwan University, he later obtained a Bachelor of Divinity (presently Master of Divinity) from Asbury Theological Seminary in 1963. He subsequently studied at Princeton Theological Seminary, from which he earned a Master of Theology. Dr. Wang obtained a Doctor of Philosophy from Emory University in 1970. Furthermore, he has been ordained to the ministry as a deacon and elder by the Free Methodist Church of North America in 1971 and 1973, respectively.
Throughout the course of his career, Dr. Wang has acted as a teacher of theology to spread Christianity, with a great deal of expertise in the New Testament and the Old Testament. For nearly 35 years, he has taught full time and steered his ambitions toward helping people attain a stronger understanding of Biblical scripture. The majority of his career was served at the Asbury Theological Seminary between 1970 and 2004 and, since his retirement, he has travelled to various locations around the world to teach and speak. Passionate about his work, Dr. Wang has contributed articles to professional journals and published books in both English and Chinese. Likewise, he wrote as a contributing author for "An Inquiry into Soteriology."
Dr. Wang considers his greatest achievements to be having taught New Testament theology. Very few individuals of Chinese origin teach what he has researched, and he is proud to have been asked to teach all over the world. He is a fellow of the Institute for Biblical Research and a member of the Society of Biblical Literature, the Evangelical Theological Society and the Wesleyan Theological Society. Notably, Dr. Wang has been the recipient of the Outstanding Educator of America Award. Looking toward the future, he intends to write additional books and continue to travel and teach.
