OMAHA, NE, March 31, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dave Manriquez has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Prior to pursuing his education, Mr. Manriquez served honorably in the United States Air Force from 1965 to 1969. During this time, he received top-secret clearance and was entrusted with carrying classified information, as well as chauffeuring three- and four-star generals. Following the conclusion of his service, he earned an Associate of Arts from Glendale College in 1972 and went on to attain a Bachelor of Arts from California State University in 1974, as well as credentials to teach art for students in kindergarten to the 12th grade in 1976.
While pursuing his education, Mr. Manriquez began his career as a teacher's assistant from 1970 until 1974. In 1976, he subsequently worked as a traveling art teacher for Omaha Public Schools, after which he became an art instructor for Christ the King Elementary School in 1981. Mr. Manriquez went on to function as an elementary art teacher for the Bancroft School in 1987, a position from which he retired in 2006.
In addition to his main career, Mr. Manriquez served as a freelance artist for the Positive, a monthly publication by the Omaha Park and Recreation Department. Additionally, he worked as an art instructor for Presbyterian Metropolitan Ministries of Omaha and as a cultural arts instructor for the Bemis Foundation. Mr. Manriquez also engaged in acrylic and oil paint instruction on behalf of adults at the Florence Community Center for over a decade.
Bearing a particular specialization in realism, abstract art and murals, Mr. Manriquez has displayed his work in numerous art exhibits and galleries since 1983, beginning with the Chicano Awareness Center Mural "The Hands of Destiny," which was commissioned by the Metro Arts Council. He was also featured at the Latino/Latin American Artists: Exhibition and Conversations show in 2015. As part of his dedication to his field, Mr. Manriquez is a member of several business and artistic organizations, including the Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts, the National Art Education Association, the Omaha Education Association and the Chicano Awareness Center.

He also received the Latino Heritage Award for Arts from Barrientos Scholarship Foundation. While teaching, Mr. Manriquez was honored with the Nebraska P.T.A. Honorary State Life Award by the Bancroft Elementary Parent Teacher Association in 2004.
