DECATUR, IL, April 01, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- William Ronald YaDeau has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Upon earning a Bachelor of Music in piano performance, with a minor in philosophy, from Baldwin Wallace College, Dr. YaDeau received a Master of Music in piano performance and literature from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Following this accomplishment, he worked as a piano instructor for Eastern Oregon University between 1972 and 1976. Over the years, Dr. YaDeau has expanded upon his industry knowledge, earning a Doctor of Musical Arts in piano performance and literature and a minor in music theory from the University of Illinois, and completing advanced piano studies with Marian Filar and Howard Karp.
Before his retirement in 2013, Dr. YaDeau worked as an associate professor of music and coordinator of keyboard studies for Millikin University, where he also served as a member on the Council of Student and Academic Standards. In 2002, he also had the honor of serving as a guest lecturer for the 70th Anniversary at the Belarus Academy of Music. In 1997 Dr. and Mrs. YaDeau presented recitals in Slovakia under the auspices of the Cleveland-Bratislava Sister Cities Association, the first Americans sent to Slovakia by that group. Driven to remain aware of changes in the field, Dr. YaDeau aligns himself with the Music Teachers National Association, the Decatur Area Music Teachers Association, the Illinois State Music Teachers Association, the Oregon Music Teachers Association and the College Music Society.
Alongside his work in the field, Dr. YaDeau serves on the Commission of Governing for the United Lutheran Mission Association and as the chairman of the board of trustees for Walther Theological Seminary. Throughout the course of his career, he has performed at faculty recitals at Millikin University, contributed to numerous CDs, and authored such works as "Music in the Divine Service," "Thoughts on Medical Problems of Performing Artists," "The Role of the Studio Teacher in Comprehensive Arts Education" and "Critical Education of 24 Preludes by Petr Petrovich Podkovyrov."
In light of his outstanding work in the field, Dr. YaDeau was named as a fellow through the Music Teachers National Association Foundation in 2003. While his career has been filled with highlights, he is most proud to have learned the music of Petr Podkovyrov, a composer from Belarus. Looking toward the future, Dr. YaDeau aims to present and publish more recitals in his field.
