Jorgonne M. Ellis Celebrated for Success in Social Work

Ms. Ellis has devoted her career to providing mental health services to children in need



Jorgonne M. Ellis prides herself on bringing effective and innovative approaches to care.

    VALLEY STREAM, NY, April 04, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Jorgonne M. Ellis has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. After witnessing the unfortunate suffering of citizens in Haiti and their lack of proper mental health care or resources, Ms. Ellis was inspired to help individuals and children. She pursued a career in social work, obtaining an associate of arts from Queensborough College and a bachelor's degree, cum laude with Presidential Honors, in social work and psychology from Queens College. Having received an academic scholarship and been named to the Dean's List, Ms. Ellis is presently working towards the completion of her master's degree in clinical social work at Touro College.

Ms. Ellis is currently program director for Transitional Services for New York Inc. (TSINY, Inc.), having previously served as assistant program director after completing an internship with the agency. In this role, she provides direction training as well as guidance and support to program staff. She is also skilled in crisis intervention, managing the agency's financial resources, and communicating information to the corporate compliance department according to policy. In addition, she provides regularly scheduled supervision to her 19 employees and 52 residents and helps individuals maintain their current housing while working towards a successful transition to a more independent housing setting. Ms. Ellis prides herself on bringing effective and innovative approaches to care.

Ms. Ellis previously worked for Martin de Porres Group Home for 5 years, and as a mental health professional for SCO Family of Services for 5 years. She also had experience with Atena Insurance and as a paralegal with the Law Office of Michael Cohen for two years.

Ms. Ellis is a member of Queens College's National Society for Leadership and Success. Since 2014, she has been a regular donor for a children's orphanage in Haiti called An Ede Ti Moun Yo (Let's Help the Children). She attributes her success to her hardworking mother. In the future, Ms. Ellis intends to open her own practice, create a haven for women and children who are suffering from domestic violence, and expand her own orphanage in Haiti.
