The last form of teaching he liked the best, was his Annual Hands on Clinical Workshops (1988-1999) with a total participation of 562 Board Certified US surgeons. Two books and 4 videotapes were also made available for the participants. Since 1995, he uses the same minimally invasive procedure for bulging, unsightly hand veins. Yes, seniority is inevitable, showing it is optional!
The road was not easy. Dr. Goren followed the teachings of Maimonides who said: "If doctors wiser than me seek to help me to understand, grant me the desire to learn from them - for the knowledge of healing is boundless." Indeed, Dr. Goren visited and learned from 17 individual surgeons from the US, Canada and from Europe. Not counting the years in medical school (Hebrew University Hadassah Medical School, MD Diploma in 1963), the internship, almost two residencies and a fellowship, make a total of 12 years of medical education beyond 6 years of medical school.

Dr. Goren was born in the small town of Lugos, Romania, in 1936. He speaks Hungarian, (his mother tongue), Romanian, German, French, Hebrew (he finished his studies and residency in surgery) and English. He immigrated to the U.S. after 17 years in Israel, where he worked at USC as a Clinical Transplant Fellow before going into private practice.
