Driven to fight against inequality, Dr. Brown received a Bachelor of Arts in public administration and criminal justice from St. Thomas University in 1974. Following this accomplishment, he became a teaching assistant at Nova Southeastern University and earned a Master of Public Administration from Florida International University. Over the course of his career, he gained valuable industry experience as a police officer for the Miami-Dade, Hialeah, Opa-Locka, and Ocala Police Departments and completed an internship in mediation through Dade County Public Schools. Additionally, Dr. Brown received a Doctor of Philosophy in conflict resolution at Nova Southeastern, as well as a Doctor of Ministry from the Jacksonville Theological Seminary.
Drawing on years of professional experience, Dr. Brown presently excels as a self-employed mediator, a teacher for the School Board of Broward County, and as a private investigator with his company Private T. Throughout the course of his career, he has furthered his expertise, earning various licenses and certifications through the state of Florida, the University of West Florida, the State of Florida Department of Education, the Florida Supreme Court, the American Association of Christian Counselors and the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools. Dr. Brown has authored Gold Shield, an e-book on Amazon.
In order to remain aware of changes in the field, Dr. Brown aligns himself with the Broward Teachers Union and the Florida Association of Licensed Educators. Devoted to those less fortunate, he has also contributed as a volunteer security guard for the Words of Life Church. While his career has been filled with highlights, he is most proud to have received the Bateman Grant at St. Thomas University and to have served in law enforcement despite the challenges brought about by him being an African-American in the field.
