A seasoned executive manager with numerous years of expertise to his credit, Dr. Caffey worked as senior associate for JEA HydroTech Engineering Inc. between 2011 and 2016. Previously, he worked as an environmental manager and assistant city engineer for the City of Arlington, and as the president of the eponymous Caffey Engineering Inc. Prior to this period, he gained valuable expertise in the field as an associate with Rady and Associates Inc., a department head at Turner, Collier & Braden Inc. and as a professor at the University of Texas at Arlington. Additionally, Dr. Caffey served as a captain in the U.S. Air Force and as a member of the U.S. Air Force Reserve.
An expert in his field of water resources engineering, Dr. Caffey holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M University, and a Doctor of Philosophy from Colorado State University. He is also a registered professional engineer in the State of Texas and was a certified floodplain manager via the Texas Floodplain Management Association. Driven to remain aware of changes in the field, Dr. Caffey is affiliated with the American Society of Civil Engineers and the National Society of Professional Engineers, as well as the honorable societies of Phi Eta Sigma, Tau Beta Pi, Phi Kappa Phi, Sigma Xi and Chi Epsilon.
Long devoted to his local community, Dr. Caffey serves as a clerk and secretary for First Baptist Church of Arlington, TX, where he also serves as a deacon, and contributes as a donor through English First. Previously, he volunteered with Arlington/Mission Metroplex and the Cancer Research Foundation North Texas. Due to his outstanding contributions, Dr. Caffey received a Meritorious Service Award through the North Central Texas Council of Governments and an Award of Honor through the Texas Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers.
While his career has been filled with highlights, Dr. Caffey is most proud to have received several appreciation awards and honors from professional organizations. In the coming years, he intends to experience the continued success of his career.
