Mrs. Usakowski performs a great variety of analytics tests for physicians

Among her many responsibilities, Mrs. Usakowski performs a great variety of analytics tests for physicians, working as a generalist in areas such as blood bank, chemistry, coagulation, hematology, immunology, microbiology, urinalysis, and specimen processing.
Prior to being named to her current position, Mrs. Usakowski spent several years as a certified pharmacy technician, starting in a retail setting followed by a hospital setting with SSM Health. To support her career endeavors, she serves as a member of Phi Theta Kappa. In accounting for her success, Mrs. Usakowski credits her innate passion for the field, as well as her deeply ingrained sense of perseverance. The support of her loving family also assisted her throughout her journey.
Having originally aspired to study pharmaceutical services in college, Mrs. Usakowski eventually resolved to pursue biology instead. In 2016, she earned a bachelor's degree in biology medical science at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville. In 2019, she became a medical laboratory technician after graduating from SSM Health's first MLT program as well as passing the ASCP MLT exam. After working as a medical laboratory technician for two years, Mrs. Usakowski was eligible to sit for the ASCP MLS exam, passing the board in 2021.
