Alyssa N. Boock believes that her diversified background in reproductive medicine and her level of self-discipline will continue to serve her well in the future.

Ms. Boock recently graduated from college and began a very rewarding career in medical laboratory science. Hired by West Virginia University Medicine Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown in July 2020 as a Medical Laboratory Technologist. Ms. Boock also accepted an opportunity with Mon Health Preston Memorial Hospital in Kingwood, West Virginia as a Medical Laboratory Scientist in April 2021. Before advancing to West Virginia University Medicine Center for Reproductive Medicine to become an Andrologist in July 2021 overseeing various laboratory responsibilities, including the database, logs, records and guidelines, as well as performing patient testing.
Over the years, Ms. Boock has developed a passion for giving back to her community through various volunteer events. Among them, she had the opportunity to become involved with Chambersburg Hospital in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, where she notably completed some of her education. To support her professional endeavors, Ms. Boock is a member of the American Medical Technologists, the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, and the American Society for Clinical Pathology.
Ms. Boock originally signed up for an internship program at the Healthcare Career Institute at Chambersburg Hospital during high school. After shadowing several specialists in various hospital settings, she decided upon medical laboratory science. Five years later, she discovered andrology after being invited to shadow at the Center for Reproductive Medicine at West Virginia University (WVU) Medicine. Fortunate to be exposed to her discipline early into her career, Ms. Boock is grateful to have been able to set a clear path for her future.
After receiving a diploma at Chambersburg Area Senior High School, Ms. Boock notably earned a bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences at West Virginia University in 2020. During her studies, she served as an MLS Navigator attending events and helping the university recruit others into the program. She also garnered additional experience by completing student rotations at Ruby Memorial Hospital Laboratory between January and May 2020. Ms. Boock holds an MLS (AMT) license since September 2020.
Considering a master's degree in reproductive medicine in the very near future, Ms. Boock was recently accepted to the Eastern Virginia Medical School, which offers an online program. Her goal is to continue growing in her field as both an andrologist and embryologist. She is also considering conducting research in her field. Ms. Boock believes that her diversified background in reproductive medicine and her level of self-discipline will continue to serve her well in the future.
