Dr. Nitto has found success as a family medicine resident physician at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Utica, New York. In this role, she treats patients at the residency run clinic, has taken care of patients in the intensive care unit, particularly during the COVID-19 epidemic, and delivers babies at one of the local hospitals.
Dr. Nitto is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American College of Physicians and the American Academy of Pediatrics. She initially obtained a bachelor's degree in human and health sciences from the Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. In 2020, Dr. Nitto earned a Doctor of Medicine from St. George's University School of Medicine, while she lived in Grenada for 3 years. While living in Grenada she was involved in numerous organizations including Women in Medicine, the Grenadian Down Syndrome Association and the Orphanage Organization. She also ran PAP smear clinics open for the general public, volunteered at the local orphanage, and helped set up events on campus for the children in the Down Syndrome Association.
Notably, Dr. Nitto has been recognized by the Gold Humanism Honor Society and by the chief executive officer of the hospital at which she works due to patients' glowing feedback. She attributes her success to the support of her family. In the future, Dr. Nitto ultimately intends to establish her own clinic to help the Down Syndrome population in New York.
