For more than 11 years, Dr. Arumugarajah has found much success in the field of medicine. He pursued his undergraduate education at the Pennsylvania State University, obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology with minor concentrations in sociology and biology in 2005. He continued his academic efforts at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM), completing a Master of Science in biomedical sciences in 2007, followed by earning his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree at PCOM in 2011. He stayed in Philadelphia to complete a residency in internal medicine in 2014 at the PCOM Consortium, and work as a hospitalist for Temple Physicians, Inc. in 2015. He moved on to Pittsburgh to complete a nephrology fellowship at the Allegheny Health Network between 2015 and 2017 before starting private practice.
Dr. Arumugarajah has been licensed to practice medicine in the states of Pennsylvania and Indiana. He is currently board certified in internal medicine and nephrology by the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine. Since 2018, he has served as a physician at Northwest Indiana Nephrology, a division of Nephrology Associates of Northern Illinois and Indiana. In this capacity, Dr. Arumugarajah specializes in nephrology and hypertension, seeing inpatient and outpatient consultations and follow ups dealing with acute kidney injury, chronic kidney disease, renal replacement therapy via dialysis and kidney transplants, and various electrolyte abnormalities including hyperkalemia and hyponatremia.
Among his professional accomplishments, Dr. Arumugarajah is incredibly proud to have garnered his osteopathic medical degree, but also completed his arduous medicine and nephrology training. He attributes much of his success to his courageous and tenacious personality, proudly serving in the field via the Golden Rule: "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."
