As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
A specialist in early childhood education, Ms. Maguire spent years working as a site director for an early childhood center before rising to become the director and owner of Lolly's Early Learning Center Inc. in 2010. In recognition of her successful business and the excellent leadership, the school was inducted into the Business Hall of Fame. To prepare for her career, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Boston University in 2001 and went on to attain a Master of Education in early childhood education from Queens College, graduating with honors in 2004. In 2010, she earned an Advanced Certificate in Human Resource Management from New York University. As part of her dedication to her field, Ms. Maguire is a member of the National Association for the Education of Young Children, the Coalition of Educators, as well as many local educational groups.
Originally intent on becoming a pharmacist out of a love for science, Ms. Maguire was inspired by her mother to pursue a career in early childhood education. She began working as a prekindergarten teacher while earning her graduate degree, becoming the youngest director hired at the early childhood center after she graduated. Resolving to pursue an independent path forward, Ms. Maguire created her business to help children grow and learn while having fun. Her father assisted in finding an appropriate location for her facility, eventually settling on an area in Long Island City without any preexisting childcare facility.
Dedicated to her community on both a local and global level, Ms. Maguire has volunteered with many different charities and nonprofit organizations. Along with several other volunteer projects, she has participated in the Gantry Park spring fling events, the St. Jude's Walk to End Childhood Cancer, Thanksgiving canned food drives benefiting food pantries and homeless shelters in New York City. Furthermore, she worked with A Helping Hand for Haiti. Additionally, Ms. Maguire's company supports and sponsors the American Civil Liberties Union, the March of Dimes Foundation, the Save the Children Federation, Band of Parents, Police Activity League, and the local fire and police departments, among several others.
