ROSWELL, GA, April 18, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Amit V. Tibrewala has been included in Marquis Who's Who. Prior to embarking upon his professional path, Dr. Tibrewala obtained a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery, from Terna Medical College in 1999. During his final MBBS, Dr. Tibrewala placed first amongst 800 students in General Surgery. He then went on to complete his internship in a rural setting and as a casualty officer with Employee State Insurance Scheme Hospital in Mumbai from 1999 to 2000. He joined his residency in general surgery at Topiwala National Medical College and B.Y.L. Nair Charitable Hospital in 2000.
Dr. Tibrewala then immigrated to the United States to pursue a Masters of Health Services Administration from The George Washington University, and graduated on the Dean's List in 2004. During that period, Dr. Tibrewala refined his administrative skills with an internship at the Whitman-Walker Clinic in Washington, D.C., in 2004. He then completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at Georgetown University Hospital/Washington Hospital Center from 2004 to 2007. Given his exceptional work during residency he stayed on as Chief Resident in internal medicine at Georgetown University Hospital/Washington Hospital Center, Washington DC, between 2007 and 2008. During his residency and chief residency, he was involved in research and education. He published papers in peer reviewed journals and presented papers at various national meetings. It was during this time that his interest in cardiology was piqued and under the guidance of Dr. Joseph Lindsay, Dr. Tibrewala decided to further pursue his training in cardiology. He completed his fellowship in cardiovascular disease at the Henry Ford Health System in 2011. After fellowship training, he joined a private practice as an Attending Physician in Orlando but decided to relocate to Georgia for better opportunities. Dr. Tibrewala joined Northside Hospital Health System in 2012 and has since been an integral part of the Northside cardiovascular team. He is currently a senior partner and attending physician at Northside Heart.
Since joining Northside he served as a supervising physician in the heart failure service line at Northside Hospital Forsyth in Cumming, Georgia, between 2020 and 2021. Since 2020, Dr. Tibrewala has been appointed the Director of Medical Services at Northside Hospital Forsyth where he liaises with the directors of other service lines to ensure the smooth functioning of the hospital and is actively involved in approving treatment protocols and physician appointments. As a physician Dr. Tibrewala is actively involved in treating patients in both the clinic and hospital setting and involved in reading imaging studies such as echocardiograms carotid ultrasounds and nuclear stress tests. He also performs procedures such as heart catheterizations and transesophageal echocardiograms.
Dr. Tibrewala received board certification in internal medicine in 2007, has been board certified in nuclear cardiology since 2010, the treatment of cardiovascular disease since 2011 and adult comprehensive echocardiography since 2012. Moreover, Dr. Tibrewala is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, Fellow of the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology, as well as a member of the American Society of Echocardiography and the Georgia Association of Physicians of Indian Origin.
Dr. Tibrewala has worked on process improvement projects and in various leadership roles. He worked as an analyst for the Capstone Project at Potomac Hospital in 2002 to help improve ER throughput. Dr. Tibrewala served on the student government at The George Washington University during his masters. Likewise, he has been dedicated to various medical charities, food drives, nonprofit organizations, treatment camps in India and programs for the control and treatment of leprosy, polio and diabetes over the years.
Dr. Tibrewala has attributed his success to hard work, perseverance and the support of his family.
In the coming years, Dr. Tibrewala hopes to continue his work as a cardiologist providing the highest quality care with the greatest empathy. He also sees himself taking on more administrative roles and working on continuous quality and process improvement.
