Drawing on over two decades of expertise, Ms. Nolasco specializes in behavior medicine as a certified registered nurse. Prior to embarking on her professional journey, she pursued an education at the Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Puerto Rico, where she obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing in 1988 and, subsequently, a Master of Science in Psychiatric Nursing and Mental Health and Sciences in 1998. She continued her academic efforts at the Devry University Keller Graduate School of Management, earning a Master of Business Administration in Health Services in 2015. As a commitment to her field, Ms. Nolasco has been active as a member with the American Nursing Association.
Ms. Nolasco began her career as a critical care nurse, after which she served as a professor in nursing at the Universidad Interamericana de Puerto Rico from 1998 to 2002. Between 2000 and 2002, she garnered expertise as a research coordinator at Ponce School of Medicine in Puerto Rico. Since 2002, she has excelled in multiple roles at the Behavioral Wellness Center at Girard, formerly known as the North Philadelphia Health System, while concurrently serving as a lieutenant in the United States Army Reserves between 2010 and 2014. Ms. Nolasco has built a prolific career at Girard in her various positions of leadership, such as a clinical director, the director of nursing, a performance improvement coordinator, a corporate compliance officer and a quality assurance director, and, most recently, as the Vice President of Patient Services Regulatory and Compliance. She was also recently appointed as a Patient Safety Officer.
In her capacity as the Vice President of Patient Services Regulatory and Compliance department at the Behavioral Wellness Center at Girard, Ms. Nolasco is responsible for overseeing the infection control and nursing departments, nursing operations, clinical patient care, regulatory compliance, staff evaluations and accreditation reviews.
