As a Cardiologist, he recognized the importance of EKGs as an incredibly useful diagnostic tool and found it indispensable in delivering personalized care for each cardiac patient. The study of rate and rhythm abnormalities and the use of this information to guide therapeutics and interventions is of special interest to Electrophysiologists like Dr. Nair. Being a practicing Electrophysiologist for the past 8 years, Dr. Nair is an expert in EKG, intracardiac electrograms and interventional cardiac procedures such as ablation of complex arrhythmias and implantation of various devices (pacemakers, defibrillators).
To keep abreast of developments in his field, Dr. Nair maintains professional membership with the American Heart Association (AHA), the American College of Cardiology and Heart Rhythm Society. He has been a peer reviewer for various international journals in the field of Electrophysiology. Among all the accomplishments in his illustrious career, he considers his most notable achievement to be winning the Early Career Best Science Award at AHA for his research "Risk Factors of Sudden Cardiac Death in the Young," which he co-authored with his wife, Dr. Reshmy Sandeep.
