ATLANTIS, FL, April 21, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- David Miller has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
The president of Adar Inc. in Palm Beach, Florida since 1990, Mr. Miller is a successful art appraiser who has been in the industry for more than 40 years. Becoming involved in his profession after being a frustrated artist, he wanted to make it easier on himself to promote artists while also helping others in the process. Mr. Miller has shed light on so many struggling artists and institutions over the years as a result of his contributions, which has been extremely rewarding.
Mr. Miller continues to give back to the community as an advisor for a local art publication in Palm Beach County since 1985. He has also long served as an advisor for the Art in State Buildings Program for the state of Florida since 1988, a program that secures artwork for new public facilities that were built with state funds.
Highly accomplished in his field, Mr. Miller was the director of the Max Hutchinson Gallery in New York City from 1976 to 1978 and the Irving Galleries in Palm Beach, Florida from 1978 to 1980. He subsequently served as president of Art Investors International in West Palm Beach, Florida from 1980 to 1990. During his career, Mr. Miller also worked as an advisor for Art Magazine in New York between 1980 and 1990.
As a curator, Mr. Miller's exhibits have been on display at The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum in Ridgefield, Connecticut, the Saint Louis Museum of Art, the Florida Atlantic University Museum, and, among others, the Aspen Art Museum in Colorado. He organized an exhibition by the American Friends of Florentine Museums from The Museo Horne Florence, which he notably co-founded, as well as the AX Trinidad Museum at the Fundacao Oriente in India.
Active with various local art organizations, Mr. Miller served on the board of directors and as chairman of the works of art committee for the Boca Raton Museum of Art, as well as trustee, president, and secretary for the Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens in West Palm Beach and as guest curator for Stars in Florida at the Fort Lauderdale Museum of Art. He also worked on the national advisory board for the Adam Walsh Child Resource Center and the board of directors for the American Red Cross in Palm Beach County, Florida.
Mr. Miller began studying art at the Art Institute of Chicago when he was just seven years old. He later attended the Illinois Institute of Technology. He is a professional member of the Appraisers Association of America, and the American Society of Appraisers.
Attributing his success to his hard work and perseverance in what is considered a very competitive field, Mr. Miller also believes that he was fortunate to be in the right place at the right time. Furthermore, he notes his continued education to his ability to maintain relevance in the art world. A celebrated Marquis listee, Mr. Miller has been cited in the 22nd edition of Who's Who in the South and Southwest.
