Drawing on over two decades of expertise, Mr. Dawson has found much success as an audio producer and engineer. Prior to embarking on his professional journey, he pursued an education at the University of California Santa Barbara, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in communication studies in 1997. As a commitment to his field, Mr. Dawson obtained certification in audio engineering via the Sound Masters Audio Engineering Program at Pinnacle College.
Since 1997, Mr. Dawson has served as an audio engineer and a radio disk jockey for various radio stations all across America. He continued in his field as a producer, voice over artist and an audio engineer for "The Adam Carolla Show" since 2006. As of 2013, he has also built a prolific business as the owner of DawsAngeles LLC, where he specializes in voice over, audio imaging and music production, as well as live concerts and events. In his career related endeavors, he has found much success as a stand-up comedian since 2019, and as the front man of his band, Mike Dawson and the Smokin Kills, who released their record, "The Last Honky Tonk Hero" in 2021. Furthermore, Mr. Dawson is under contract to record over 20 of Kinky Friedman's detective novels and voiced several audiobooks for such clients as Mark Geragos, Adam Carolla, Doug Laux, Ralph Pezzullo, Brandon Adams and Michael R. McGowan.
Among his professional accomplishments, Mr. Dawson is most proud to have served as a program director and an on-air host for the 2002 Olympic winter games, where he was responsible for creating and developing a radio station for the Utah Olympic Park to encourage attendees to walk a mile uphill into the venue. He attributes much of his success to his perseverance, and to his parents, who motivated him to always strive for greatness. Looking toward the future, Mr. Dawson aspires to tour and perform with his band, and hopes to be nominated for a Grammy award for his music production.
