SPRINGFIELD, VA, April 22, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Eric N. Rothman has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Drawing on over 35 years of expertise, Mr. Rothman has specialized in infrastructure advocacy and education for the past 25 years. Prior to embarking on his professional journey, he pursued an education at San Francisco State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Psychology in 1980. He continued his academic efforts at George Mason University, completing graduate level coursework in business administration and contract law.
Mr. Rothman began his career as Vice President of SST Telemarketing Services where he helped to develop and implement the usage of innovative political oriented fundraising technology. Mr. Rothman represented a full range of political advocacy clients and wrote promotional spots for numerous celebrity spokespeople including Charlton Heston for the American Security Council, Michael Landon for the Child Welfare League of America and famed civil rights activist Dorothy Height for the National Council of Negro Woman.
Mr. Rothman served as Director of Sales for Western Union Electronic Mail Inc. (WUEMI) from 1986 to 1989 where he helped spearhead the usage of innovative technologies for grassroots lobbying and marketed the first functional email communication system. His major clients included Earth Island Institute and the Marine Mammal Fund as well as the Reverend Jerry Falwell and the Moral Majority.
In 1989 Mr. Rothman left WUEMI along with its President to form his own political marketing agency: Advanced Direct Marketing Inc (ADM). Mr. Rothman's clients included the National Rifle Association, the AFL-CIO and Earth Island Institute. ADM led the fundraising and lobbying efforts behind the dolphin safe tuna campaign which resulted in Star-Kist and Bumble Bee corporations adopting dolphin safe fishing practices. In 1991 he established his own nonprofit, the Mammal Rescue Society, to further the global implantation of dolphin safe fishing methods.
From 1992 to 1997, he garnered expertise as the Director of Product Sales for the American Trucking Association. Mr. Rothman then served as the Vice President of Marketing, Membership and Development at the American Road and Transportation Builders Association between 1997 and 2006 where he first became interested in the state of America's infrastructure and began to fund the lobbying efforts needed to influence Congress to increase its investment in America's transportation systems.
Since 2006, Mr. Rothman has built a prolific career as Senior Partner and President of PSA Group LLC and the PSA Infrastructure Advocacy and Education Organization, a nonprofit corporation that advocates for more public and private investment in infrastructure. In this capacity, he is responsible for product marketing and sales, construction safety and infrastructure finance, as well as the production and distribution of the company newsletter to over 10,000 readers including senior level trade and public officials both in the US and abroad. Esteemed for his contributions in the field, Mr. Rothman has been recognized by Public Works Magazine as one of the Transportation Infrastructure Industry's Top 50 Trendsetters and was included with Who's Who of Association Executives.
Mr. Rothman is the parent of a special needs adult and has had an acute interest in how special needs children and adults are provided for from an educational perspective. In 1997 his landmark case: Rothman versus Loudoun County Public Schools garnered nationwide media coverage and led to significant changes in how special needs children were educated within Virginia's wealthiest county. Mr. Rothman briefly served on the Board of Directors of the ARC of Loudoun County in order to further these goals.
Mr. Rothman attributes much of his success to his dedication, proudly serving by his family motto: "Rothmans never give up!" and by the verse: "ifyou can meet with triumph and disaster and treat those two imposters just the same," from Rudyard Kipling's poem, "If."
Among his professional accomplishments, he is incredibly proud that his advocacy led to the recent passage of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act in 2021, representing the largest increase in federal funding public for roads and bridges, transit, water and wastewater, energy, aviation and railroad projects in over half a century!
