MCALESTER, OK, April 22, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Charles D. Rogers has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Following more than 20 years in public service as a master patrol officer and detective for the McAlester Police Department in McAlester, Oklahoma, Mr. Rogers switched careers. Joining the Pepsi Cola Bottling Company of McAlester in 2017 as its chief executive officer and vice president, he serves a key role in the business. In charge of various marketing and advertising initiatives, he is responsible for discerning the desires of his customers. Mr. Rogers also oversees a team of nearly 65 employees.
Covering the entire southeast Oklahoma market, Pepsi Cola Bottling Company of McAlester is just one of 83 independent bottlers in the U.S. It is also a family business. Established by his great-grandfather, E.L. Rogers, and his brother Dutch Rogers, in 1943, the company was later passed down to Mr. Rogers' grandfather, Don, and his wife, who served as the president of the corporation. Presently, both of Mr. Roger's sons work for him, as well as his son-in-law.
Since assuming ownership of the business, Pepsi Cola Bottle Company of McAlester has seen five consecutive years of growth, three of which have spurred double-digit growth. The company was also twice named as the number one bottler in the country and received national attention from local newspapers and television news shows. To support his career, Mr. Rogers is a professional member of the Pepsi Cola Bottler's Association, the Independent Bottlers Association, and the American Beverage Association.
While coming of age, Mr. Rogers resolved to become a police officer due to the influence of his grandfather, himself a law enforcement professional. After graduating from school, he worked as a jailer for several years, after which he worked for the Pittsburg County Sheriff's Office. Eventually, Mr. Rogers was recruited by the City of McAlester, where he served for nearly two decades before retiring at the rank of a master patrol officer and detective in 2016. During his career in law enforcement, he distinguished himself as a hostage negotiator for the SWAT team and spent more than 10 years as the president of the Fraternal Order of Police for the McAlester Police Department.
A considerable advocate for his local community, Mr. Rogers volunteers as a board member on behalf of Keep McAlester Beautiful, a nonprofit organization devoted to ensuring a cleaner, greener and more beautiful city for the next generation. Instrumental in promoting recycling efforts, he often provides water and trash bags to residents involved in picking up garbage in their neighborhoods. Mr. Rogers also sponsors Hudson Strong, a charity that raises money to combat pediatric cancer. The organization also provides backpacks and school supplies annually to approximately 5,000 students, purchases 5,000 gifts for children each Christmas, and hosts a drive-thru Santa Claus event for the public as well. Additionally, Mr. Rogers sits on the board of trustees for The McAlester Chamber of Commerce and as a board member for the Pittsburgh County Sheriff's Foundation.
An alumnus of Eastern Oklahoma State College, Mr. Rogers earned an associate degree in 1997. He also completed over 2,000 hours of POST professional police training and became a certified accident reconstructionist. Among his many awards, Mr. Rogers was recently recognized as the Bottler of the Year by Beverage Industry Magazine for 2022. He was also named as a Keep Oklahoma Beautiful Affiliate Champion in 2021 and received a Community Partner Award to Keep McAlester Beautiful in both 2019 and 2020.
