LEESBURG, FL, April 22, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- David Heeren has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Inspired by his father, who was one of the editors at The New York Times, Mr. Heeren pursued a career in writing. Upon graduating from the University of Delaware with a Bachelor of Arts in English literature and mathematics, he served in the United States Army in 1960-1961. He obtained his first professional role as a statistician with the New York Knicks. Subsequently, he gained valuable expertise in the field as a reporter for the Cincinnati Reds Home Games through United Press International Inc. and a newspaper reporter and sports writer for The Bergen Record.
Throughout his career, Mr. Heeren expanded upon his expertise in various sports writing and editing positions with the Fort Lauderdale News, the Broward Times and the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. Mr. Heeren has been active as an author since the late 1980s, writing such works as "End-Time Living," "GOD…or Not?: One Person's Amazing Experiences: Do They Verify the Existence of God…or Not?," "What the Bible Has to Say About the USA: The Old Testament Speaks to Americans Today" and "Day of the Lord: Great Bible Prophecies Soon to be Fulfilled." His book "The High Sign" was the first of his books to receive perfect double-four-star ratings from Online Book Club and was a book of the day for the two-million-member club.
Over the course of his 50-year career, Mr. Heeren has achieved much, inventing the TENDEX system, a professional and college basketball mathematical statistical formula that was created to determine the playing efficiency of basketball players and teams, generally accepted as the original weighted advanced stat formula officially used in the sport for at least a decade by every major professional basketball league in the world. Additionally, he completed the book "Seventy-Five," which described his career in following the NBA from its inception in 1946 to the present day. Due to his outstanding body of work, he has been honored many times, earning 15 Florida Sports Writing Contest Awards, two National Journalism Citations, and the Prose Writing Award from the University of Delaware. In the coming years, Mr. Heeren aims to reach more people through his writing and share the message of Christ and His return.
