Soon thereafter, she earned a Doctor of Medicine from Indiana University prior to completing a residency in neurosurgery at the Indiana University School of Medicine. Dr. Scherer is board-certified in neurological surgery and pediatric neurological surgery.
After garnering experience in a fellowship in pediatric neurosurgery, Dr. Scherer was recruited as a pediatric neurosurgeon at the Nemours Children's Hospital in 2017. With expertise in cranial facial disorders, she provides emergent and elective care for neurosurgical diseases such as brain tumors, cranial facial disorders, hydrocephalus, herniated discs, arteriovenous malformations, and trauma to the head. Dr. Scherer also works as an assistant professor at the University of Central Florida College of Medicine.
Moreover, Dr. Scherer is a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons and the Congress of Neurological Surgeons.
