HOUSTON, TX, April 28, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Hakeem Sahid has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. From the time he was a child, Mr. Sahid was fascinated by how airplanes remained airborne. Driven to understand this phenomenon, he earned a Bachelor of Science in aircraft engineering technology, including airframe and powerplant maintenance licenses, through Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in 1978. The following year, he began his career with the University of Illinois' Institute of Aviation as an aircraft maintenance supervisor, where he supervised the second shift crew, performed line and heavy maintenance, and in-service testing, and complied with FAA guidelines.
Over the years, Mr. Sahid parlayed his knowledge to students at Southern Illinois University, through which he obtained a Master of Science in mathematics and later supported research teams at North Carolina State University and the University of Dayton. Additionally, he expanded upon his problem-solving expertise in the field as a reliability engineering manager with Continental Airlines. Between the late 1980s and the mid-2000s, he supervised other engineers' data collections and analyses, reviewed and approved reliability reports for publication and coordinated corrective actions. Before his retirement in 2021, he excelled as a principal engineer with The Boeing Company.
Even though his career has been filled with highlights, Mr. Sahid is incredibly proud of helping the Federal Aviation Administration develop and improve on their reliability standards, and turning around the reliability engineering department at Continental Airlines. Although they were not doing too well when he joined, he turned them around within five years. In the coming years, Mr. Sahid intends to enjoy his well-deserved retirement and eventually join a board of directors in any organization where he can leverage his problem-solving expertise to continue to make a difference.
