Dr. Kaminsky subsequently served as a German Research Society fellow and research assistant at the Philipps University of Marburg Physical Institute.
After acting as a lecturer and research assistant for several years, Dr. Kaminsky earned a Doctor of Philosophy in physics from the Philipps University of Marburg, magna cum laude, in 1957. In 1958, he relocated to the United States of America, where he was recruited to serve as a research associate for Argonne National Laboratory. He maintained his role with the Argonne National Laboratory for over 25 years, having acted as a physicist and the director of major programs. Throughout the span of his professional journey, Dr. Kaminsky has also worked as a consultant for the United States Congress and as a lecturer and professor. Additionally, from 1985 to 1993, he was called upon to act as the symposium chairperson for the International Conference on Metallurgical Coatings.
A respected voice in his field, Dr. Kaminsky has worked as the editor and co-editor of numerous publications, and was the author of "Atomic and Ionic Impact Phenomena on Metal Surfaces." Likewise, he has contributed many articles to a multitude of professional journals. After having acted as a trustee and chairperson for many divisions of the organization, Dr. Kaminsky has been distinguished as an honorary member of the American Vacuum Society, a constituent organization of the American Institute of Physics.
Moreover, Dr. Kaminsky has been a member of the American Physical Society, the American Chemical Society, the Scientific Research Society of America and the American Association for the Advancement of Science. Aside from his primary vocational pursuits, he has devoted much of his time toward civic duties. From 1970 to 1992, Dr. Kaminsky was actively involved in the Committee of 100 of Hinsdale, Illinois, having acted on the board of directors and as the president of the organization.
