She is also a certified phlebotomist with the First Health Step Agency. She began her career as a Hagar's House advocate for the First Grace Community Alliance in New Orleans in 2018. Since 2021, she has excelled as a church officer for First Grace United Methodist Baptist Church and a child advocate for the New Orleans Family Justice Center.
In her present role as a child advocate, Ms. Seldon is responsible for engaging with parents that may be victims of domestic abuse situations while having a trauma-informed based approach. After parents take their children to see a counselor, she cares for them and helps them manage negative emotions that may have developed as a result of their situation. She teaches them how to conduct healthy conversations and how to effectively communicate with their peers, including when they have done something wrong.
In addition to her main career, Ms. Seldon has authored works dedicated to her faith, including "Spiritual Metaphysical Poems and Literature," published through the Xlibris Corporation in 2014, and "Perception of God Based on Ego Will Lead You Away From God," published with Hubpages in 2015. To further give back to her community, she serves as an usher for First Grace United Methodist Church of New Orleans and has volunteered in disaster relief with the American Red Cross. As part of her dedication to helping children, Ms. Seldon intends to establish a nonprofit organization to help women and children who are struggling in her community.
