Dr. Ezeugwu has led a long and distinguished career in medicine as a renowned cardiologist for more than three decades. As the president and director of Just Heart Cardiovascular Group Inc., a full-service cardiovascular and primary care practice, he and his team have provided superior care to patients for more than 20 years at locations in Baltimore City and County. Dr. Ezeugwu's practice is also accredited by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission and can perform necessary nuclear cardiology testing and adult transthoracic echocardiography services.
Outside of seeing patients at his office, Dr. Ezeugwu also serves as the current President of the Baltimore Medical Society, Maryland, and as an assistant professor of medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore. Highly accomplished in his respected field, he previously served as the chair of the peer quality review at Bon Secour Hospital in Baltimore from 2010 to 2013 and as the president of the hospital medical staff from 2004 to 2006. Dr. Ezeugwu also served as a board member for ABC in Atlanta between 2008 and 2010, medical director for the National Cardiac Monitoring Center in Glenelg, and as the director for Just Heart Help Inc. (a non-profit) in Baltimore since 2004. He also serves as the VP of the Board of Trustees for the Center for Social Awareness, Advocacy and Ethics, Inc. (CSAAEINC) – a non-profit dedicated to youth mentorship and entrepreneurial training.
Dr. Ezeugwu received a bachelor's degree in biology at Niagara University, New York. He subsequently earned a Doctor of Medicine at Saint George's University School of Medicine. Additional educational pursuits to Dr. Ezeugwu's credit include an internship and residency in internal medicine and fellowships in critical care, cardiology and interventional cardiology at several leading institutions. He received board certification in internal medicine, critical care and a subspecialty in cardiovascular disease.
Dr. Ezeugwu has been recognized as an elected fellow of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions, the American College of Cardiology and the American College of Physicians. He has also been honored as a life member of the American College of Physicians, the American College of Cardiology, and the Association of Black Cardiologists. In light of his professional achievements, Dr. Ezeugwu has been bestowed with several recognition and excellence awards, including an America's Top Cardiologist Excellence Award from the Consumer Research Council in 2009, and was named among the Three Best in Cardiology Care in Baltimore in 2022. He is the author of The Concept Book – Faith and Receiving from God.
