During the early stages of his career, Mr. Mitchell earned distinction as the director of the Dislocated Worker Unit for the Department of Labor and Industry. As Manager of Operations, Mr. Mitchell was responsible for all workforce investment funding of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, which was in excess of $100 million. After two years in this capacity, he became the special assistant to the Deputy Secretary of Employment Security and Workforce Development. Over the years, Mr. Mitchell gained valuable expertise in the field as a federal workforce representative for the U.S. Department of Labor, and as the executive director of the Workforce Investment Council of the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development in the District of Columbia.

Outside of his primary career endeavors, he has served his community as a minister of community outreach and engagement for the Tabernacle Baptist Church, and a board director at the National Civil War Museum. Furthermore, Mr. Mitchell dedicates himself to Christian Churches United and the Tabernacle Baptist Church, where he served as an assistant pastor.
An expert in his field, Mr. Mitchell holds an Associate of Arts from Harrisburg Area Community College. In light of his professional achievements, he received the Management Excellence Award through the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry. While his career has been filled with highlights, he is most proud to have made a difference in the lives of others on a policy-making level.
