An expert in the oil and gas industry, Ms. Beckmann has been affiliated with the ExxonMobil Corporation for more than 60 years. Hired by Humble Oil and Refining Company as a computer analyst in Baton Rouge from 1961 to 1968, she subsequently accepted an engineering position. Ms. Beckmann currently excels as a senior economic advisor specializing in optimization and planning while mentoring the younger generation of engineers.
During her tenure as the longest running employee to ever serve at the Baton Rouge location, Ms. Beckmann has experienced both a rebranding as well as a merger. She has also been recognized as the only engineer to achieve her job classification level in a domestic refinery in the company. An expert in refinery processing, the optimization of units, and general economics, Ms. Beckmann attributes her success to maintaining a level of self-confidence and truly believing in her capabilities.
Very active in her community, Ms. Beckmann has served as a volunteer with several non-profit and civic organizations, including the United Way and Quota International. She has also volunteered her time with the Family Services and Emerge Center and has contributed to her local church as a board member, treasurer and administration area moderator. She received the Baton Rouge Volunteer Activist Award as well as Service to Mankind award from the Kiwanis. Ms. Beckmann earned a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering from the University of Mississippi in 1961 as the first student to graduate from the aforementioned university's engineering program.
To support her career in the industry, Ms. Beckmann has been a member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers and the American Business Women's Association, which honored her among their Top 10 People. She also received a Trailblazer Award from the Young Women's Christian Association and a Distinguished Alumni Award from the University of Mississippi.
