An expert in photographic imaging science, Dr. Dixit was an accomplished scientist for more than 30 years. To prepare for his career, he earned a Bachelor of Science with Honors and a PhD from the University of Bombay in India in Polymer Chemistry. Dr. Dixit spent a year as a Post-Doctoral Fellow in polymer chemistry at Queens University Belfast in the United Kingdom. After immigrating to the United States in 1970, he excelled as a scientist for Dynachem, A Division of Morton International as well as a functional service manager for AZ Electronics Materials USA Corp until his retirement in 2013. At the same time, Dr. Dixit worked as a semiconductor scientist for Clariant, Hoechst Celanese and American Hoechst, gaining a wealth of experience in research and development, quality assurance, product development and technical service.
Prior to his retirement, Dr. Dixit was responsible for the development and commercialization of newer positive photoresists, a light-sensitive material used in processes like photolithography and photoengraving. To develop these products, he designed experiments, created manufacturing and quality control procedures and helped build cleanrooms. In recognition of his stellar work in this field, Dr. Dixit was honored with a Senior Member Status Award by the Society of Photographic Imaging Science.
Over the course of his career, Dr. Dixit has presented his research at seminars, including scientific papers. He has published 37 scientific papers in international prestigious refereed journals and holds more than 17 patents in the United States and abroad for polymers, photopolymers and photolithography. Moreover, Dr. Dixit is a member of the American Chemical Society and the International Society for Optics and Photonics.
Also a dedicated civil advocate, Dr. Dixit volunteers with the United Way to provide income tax preparation assistance and also serves as a soccer referee for his local American Youth Soccer Organization and USSF. In honor of his exemplary service to the community, he was presented the President's Volunteer Service Award. A hard worker by nature, Dr. Dixit plans to continue working in his field during his retirement as a consultant to keep up his contributions to the field.
