Drawing on over four decades of expertise, Mr. Frazier serves as an author and a recording artist, and a music educator. Prior to embarking on his professional journey, he pursued an education at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in Black American studies, with a minor in economics, sociology and cultures in 1971. He continued his academic efforts at Columbia University, where he earned a Master of Education in administration and supervision, a second Masters in Policy Decision Making and Doctoral course completion in Policy Decision Making in 1982. As a commitment to his field, he has been certified by the New York City Board of Education as a senior curriculum development and coordination instruction specialist, a senior staff development and training instruction specialist, a senior subject area instructional program management specialist in administration and supervision of special education, to name only a few. Additionally, Mr. Frazier has been active with several industry-related organizations, including the Council of Supervisors and Administrators, the National Education Association and the Association of Composers and Arrangers.
Mr. Frazier began his career contributing to various school districts in a variety of roles, including a reading and writing coordinator at School District 23, a dean of students at Junior High School 57, 61 and Public School 289, a teacher trainer at School Districts 16, 17 and 23, an assistant principal and, subsequently, a principal at Elementary Schools 289 and 28, as well as Middle School 385. Additionally, he garnered expertise as a staff development trainer, a school improvement facilitator and a test liaison at the New York City Board of Education and the Central Board of Education.
Since 2002, Mr. Frazier found much success as a special education placement officer for the City School District 16 of New York, while concurrently serving as the chief executive officer at Eric Frazier Productions as of 2005. Among his professional accomplishments, Mr. Frazier is most proud to have published his latest book and of its ability to serve the public. He was inspired during his career, through study with the nation's leading authorities in their fields, Dr. N. L. Gage, research on teaching, and Dr. E. Edmund Reutter, Education Law 1981. He was also influenced by life experiences which taught him to empathize with those experiencing the struggles of life. These are some of the attributes that laid the foundation to become a better educator and better musician.
