COLLEYVILLE, TX, May 17, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Craig Scheef has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Mr. Scheef has found success as the founder, chair and chief executive officer of Texas Security Bank in Dallas. As part of his commitments since 2008, he ensures that his team is aligned with the mission, vision and values of the organization, which includes elevating the champions of free enterprise through value-added, education-based resources. He also focuses on evaluating the needs of clients and the needs of his employees and facilitates a bi-weekly training program for bankers to assist business owners with strengthening their own entrepreneurial ventures. Additionally, Mr. Scheef oversees the bank's academy, which offers a one-year program similar to an Executive Master of Business Administration.
When Texas Security Bank was founded 15 years ago, Mr. Scheef assembled a group of 13 other industry professionals to serve as organizers and gained regulatory approval. He also worked diligently to raise the necessary capital, which amounted to $26.5 million, and began putting the proper processes, infrastructure, and other necessary systems in place to ensure its success. Presently, in addition to having opened two additional locations, Texas Security Bank has accrued assets valued at approximately $950 million.
A banking executive of more than 30 years, Mr. Scheef began his career with First Interstate Bank in Texas (now Wells Fargo) in 1988. During his tenure there, he advanced to become the Vice President and loan team leader, through which he managed a team of middle-market lenders. Following this period, he joined Bank of Texas in 2008, which is owned by the Bank of Oklahoma. During his four years with the bank, Mr. Scheef held several roles, including as the president of business banking, where he managed seven community banks throughout Dallas and Houston.
Well regarded as a leader in his local community, Mr. Scheef maintains his affiliation with the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce, as a treasurer for the Swiss Avenue Historic District, and as a member of the C12 Christian CEO Advisory Organization. Likewise dedicated to civic advocacy, he and his wife have also supported Youth Believing in Change for many years, a nonprofit organization for disadvantaged youth that includes an after-school program, tutoring, training and more. The two also support the Center for Urban Renewal and Education and a ministry in Cuba that works with area churches.
After earning a diploma at Plano Senior High School in 1981, Mr. Scheef went on to receive a Bachelor of Business Administration in marketing at East Central University in 1985. He subsequently completed a Master of Business Administration in banking, corporate, finance and securities law at the University of North Texas in 1988, graduating with high honors in the top five percent of his graduating class.
In light of his achievements, Mr. Scheef was honored with a Milam Award, a Distinguished Service Award and a Distinguished Alumni Award from East Central University. He was also presented with an Entrepreneur of the Year Award from the university's Harland C. Stoncipher School of Business. Mr. Scheef was later featured in the Dallas Business Journal and D Magazine as a 2021 Innovation in Finance honoree. That same year, he won the Silver Stevie Award for his support during the PPP loan application process and was named as an All-Star by the National Customer Service Association. Under his guidance, Texas Security Bank was named as the Best Place to Work by the Best Workplace Institute and among the Best Places to Work by the Dallas Business Journal.
One of the keys to Mr. Scheef's success has been his ability to maintain a noble purpose, through which he has worked to cultivate the careers of his employees while providing superlative service to clients. In accounting for his success, he credits the influence of his deep and abiding Christian faith. Additionally, Mr. Scheef is most grateful for the love and support of his wife, to whom he has been married for more than three decades.
