After joining the U.S. Navy, Mr. Robinson began his career as a dental assistant serving on board the United States Ship Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72). He later received training in dental maxillofacial laboratory technology becoming a clinical anaplastologist for the Naval Post Graduate Dental School Bethesda until his retirement as Chief Clinical Anaplastologist for the Naval Medical Center Portsmouth. Subsequently, he gained valuable expertise in his field as an anaplastologist and maxillofacial prosthetist working for Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. Supported by his considerable expertise, Mr. Robinson presently excels as an anaplastologist and dental maxillofacial prosthetist for the 633rd Dental Squadron at Langley Air Force Base, and in his private practice as a clinical anaplastologist with Maxillofacial Art.
In his myriad positions, Mr. Robinson performs a wide range of designing, intra and extra oral fabrication and removal dental work. In this capacity, he works with silicone materials, constructs porcelain and acrylic fixed semi-rigid appliances, which he also uses when correcting facial deformities, treats patients with cancer, blunt trauma and congenital defects, and plans and conducts classroom and laboratory training for dental residencies and dental laboratory technicians. In order to remain aware of changes in the field, Mr. Robinson has aligned himself with the Educational Board of Certification in Clinical Anaplastology, the International Anaplastology Association, the American College of Healthcare Executives and the American Medical Administrators of Tidewater.
Before embarking on his professional journey, Mr. Robinson earned a bachelor's degree in health care management from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale and a master's degree in health services administration from Central Michigan University. Well qualified in his field, he also received sub specialty training in dental maxillofacial laboratory technology and clinical anaplastology from the Naval School of Health Sciences, Naval Post Graduate Dental School Bethesda, and specialty training in dental laboratory prosthetics at the Naval School of Dental Assisting and Technology in San Diego, CA.
Throughout the course of his career, Mr. Robinson has been honored on numerous occasions, earning the National Defense Service Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, the Navy Conduct Medal, the Navy Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Award and the Meritorious Unit Commendation Medal, to name only a few. Over the years, he has also received several commendations; Air Combat Command, Medical Group and Dental Squadron Civilian of the Year Awards. While his career has been filled with highlights, he is most proud to have distinguished himself on behalf of the public as a civic advocate.
