Mr. Spencer earned a Bachelor of Science from Grand Valley State University in 1985 and went on to start his career as an allograft processing technician for Osteotech in 1988. He subsequently became a tissue bank coordinator for the Transplant Resource Center of Maryland Inc. in 1991, after which he served as a senior laboratory technician for Johns Hopkins University in 1992. Following this period, he worked as a research associate for Genetic Therapy in 1994 and a clinical coordinator for research and development for Regeneration Technologies in 1999. During this time, he functioned as the product manager for regenerative products for Tutogen Medical. In 2004, Mr. Spencer became the project manager for the bone biopsy division of InterV Medical Device Technologies.
Since 2006, Mr. Spencer has served as the vice president of clinical innovation for MiMedx. In his present role, he is responsible for providing high-level technical support for medical professionals, as well as the direct sales force. He also maintains close interactions with various experts involved in his field. As part of his dedication to his field, Mr. Spencer is a member of the National Academy of Inventors.
In addition to his primary career pursuits, Mr. Spencer contributes to his community by donating to a college educational fund at his church. He attributes much of his success to his dedication, drive and passion for addressing different areas in the medical field with technological innovation. Likewise, Mr. Spencer is motivated to assist patients and discover whether certain medical conditions that have no other alternative can be changed or modified.
