Early in his career, Dr. Ahn completed an MD through the College of Medicine at Seoul National University in 1976. While serving as the vice president of the medical college's alumni association, he completed a Ph.D. in biochemistry, which he received from Chung-Ang University in 1982. Since then, Dr. Ahn has been recognized as a visiting professor with a variety of institutions, including Hallym University, Seoul National University and Inha University. He previously served as a major in the Republic of Korea Army.
