Early in her career, Ms. Williams was named Woman of the Year by the Business Professional Women's Club. Since then, she has received a Certificate of Appreciation from the American Cancer Society, President's Recognition Award from the Cape and Islands United Way, Life Achievement Award from the Massachusetts Association of School Committees and Mission Impact Champion Award from YMCA Cape Cod. Ms. Williams was named Volunteer of the Year by YMCA Cape Cod in 2008, and Cape Cod Mercy Otis Warren Woman of the Year in 2016.
Prior to pursuing a career in health care administration, Ms. Williams received a Bachelor of Science from Chestnut Hill College in 1950 and Master of Science from Boston College in 1952. Upon completing military service as a radioisotope biologist with the U.S. Air Force at the Cambridge Research Center, she served as an assistant manager with the Roxbury Businessmen's Exchange. Between 1961 and 1966, Ms. Williams was recognized as the owner and operator of Chatterlane. Most recently, she was selected to receive an honorary degree from Cape Cod Community College in 2009.
Outside of her career as an administrator, Ms. Williams worked as a real estate agent with James E. Murphy, Inc., for several decades. She maintains involvement with a wide range of organizations, including the Tales of Cape Cod. Since the turn of the century, Ms. Williams has served as a member of the Executive Committee and Board of Directors with the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce Educational Foundation. In addition, she is recognized as a member of the Executive Committee and School Committee with the Cape Cod Regional Technical High School. A Rotarian for 40 years, Ms. Williams served as the vice chairman with the Rotary Leadership Institute from 2007 to 2012.
