CANTON, GA, May 23, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Linda Bessellieu has been included in Marquis Who's Who. Licensed to teach in New York State and New York City as well as in Georgia, Ms. Bessellieu began her career as a teacher for St. Joseph's Parish Day School in 1982 after graduating from college. She then taught at Woodside Junior High School #125 in 1983. Ms. Bessellieu additionally earned a Bachelor of Science in community health from York College in 1982 and a Master of Arts in school health education from Adelphi University in 1990.
Dedicated to bringing the best possible skillset to her profession, Ms. Bessellieu obtained a Master of Science in Education from Pace University in 1993. She subsequently completed training in conflict resolution and mediation the same year. Ms. Bessellieu has also pursued training in life skills on substance abuse prevention, conflict resolution negotiation, family living and sex education and T.E.A.C.H. for exceptional students.
Ms. Bessellieu notably worked as a teacher, negotiator specialist and disciplinary dean of students for Fashion Industries High School from 1987 to 1994. In recognition of her responsibilities in this position, she was honored with a Teacher Appreciation Award from the aforementioned school. Following this role, Ms. Bessellieu was active as the health education teacher and a part-time teacher mentor for Hempstead High School until her retirement in 2010.
Since 2020, Ms. Bessellieu reentered the field and has been an author, founder and chief executive officer for MyBessProjects LLC. She was inspired to found this company by her granddaughter, who was four years old at the time. Ms. Bessellieu established MyBessProjects LLC to support her writing about how her granddaughter understands and perceives the Black Lives Matter protests.
Having shifted to writing as her primary career, Ms. Bessellieu is an accomplished author. Most recently, she and her co-authors, Tawana Bessellieu and Jaliyah Bessellieu-Webb, published "My Protest," which was honored with an Independent Press Award as a distinguished favorite in the nonfiction category in 2022. Readers' Favorite rated "My Protest" 5 stars. She is also a talented singer and has recorded numerous songs over 30 years, including "Beep Me Baby," "Tell Me Where Your Blessings Come From," "Kickin' Ya to the Curb" and "Undress Me With Your Eyes." Ms. Bessellieu has written songs as well, including "Let's Dance Forget the Romance," "Touch Our Hands Lord" and "Since I Met You Jesus." She co-authored with Tawana Bessellieu and Jaliyah Bessellieu-Webb, "My Protest." Ms. Bessellieu was highlighted in the GMA (Gospel Music Association) on Campus Song and Spotlight competition.
Looking to the future, Ms. Bessellieu intends to write a memoir of her life. Out of her passion for working with children as a teacher, she would also like to work on a short movie or cartoon series.
