Upon graduating from Glades Central Community High School, Ms. Hamilton completed coursework at Palm Beach State College and began her career as an office cleaner for the Janice Haberberger Cleaning Company. Over the years, she gained valuable professional expertise with the Visiting Nurse Association, as a medical secretary for the Hospice of Palm Beach County, and as a mail carrier, clerk and officer in charge for the U.S. Postal Service. Supported by her considerable expertise, she excels today as a postmaster for the U.S. Postal Service in South Bay, Florida, and Pahokee, Florida.
In her work with the U.S. Postal Service, Ms. Hamilton oversees the passport offices, stocks inventory, manages the budget and ensures stellar customer service, among other responsibilities. Outside of her primary vocation, she is a member of Toastmasters International. To commemorate her accomplishments, Ms. Hamilton has been honored numerous times, earning the Top Honors Award through the U.S. Postal Service and third place in the humorous speech contest through Toastmasters International. Additionally, she won the Division Humorous Speech Championship and the Area 44 Humorous Speech Contest.
Although her career has been filled with highlights, Ms. Hamilton is most proud of working for the U.S. Postal Service. When she started working for the organization, she began a job without benefits, providing relief for a postmaster in a small post office who hadn't had a vacation for an extended period of time. Consequently, she became a mail carrier, office clerk, officer in charge and ultimately a postmaster. Among other highlights, she was pleased to assist a client in getting mailboxes installed in her area. Looking toward the future, Ms. Hamilton aims to retire, travel and enjoy her free time.
