Drawing on over five decades of diverse expertise, Mr. Suarez specializes in quality assurance, inspection, research, business and treasure hunting. Prior to embarking on his professional journey, he pursued an education at Tidewater Community College, where he obtained a certificate in electrical and electronics engineering in 1983 and, subsequently, an Associate of Science from Columbia University in the City of New York in 1996. Mr. Suarez continued his academic efforts at the University of North Florida, earning a Bachelor of Business Administration in international business with a minor in Spanish in 2001 and a Bachelor of Applied Science at Excelsior College in 2002.
As a commitment to his field, Mr. Suarez is certified in supervisory management and has been active with several industry-related organizations, including the Students in Free Enterprise, the American Systems Corporation and the Navy Department of Defense.
In 1975, Mr. Suarez began his vocation as a submariner for the United States Navy, Navy Reserves and the U.S. Coast Guard Reserves military with several honorable discharges. Following the conclusion of his military service, he was active as an electronic integrated systems repair inspector at the weapons repair department in the Department of Defense Refit Facility in Kings Bay, Georgia, from 1988 to 1994. Between 1996 and 2001, he served as president of A Touch of Class Services and, as of 2001, has garnered expertise as an associate director and fellow with the Center for Ethics in Free Enterprise an arm of Global Academy Online since 1995. Mr. Suarez has also built a prolific career as the president of Cambrian Enterprises, an antiques and jewelry design and sales company.
Long dedicated to civic advocacy, Mr. Suarez has volunteered his time and services to Nassau County Emergency Management Services and to the American Red Cross. He was also appointed to the Code Enforcement board, and appointed by Mayors Austin and Delaney of Jacksonville to the HIV planning council. He is featured in several newspaper articles. Among his professional accomplishments, he is most proud to have been honored with a commanding officer citation for his heroism while saving the life of a chief who fell into freezing water while stationed on the Alexander Hamilton SSBN 617 (Blue Crew) submarine out of Holy Loch, Scotland. Mr. Suarez attributes much of his success to the various life training and experiences that he has garnered throughout his life and career. Looking toward the future, he aspires to contribute on behalf of the less fortunate in his local community and beyond.
