An expert in educational administration, Dr. Triplett has distinguished himself as a leader in his field for more than 30 years. His philosophy is that regardless of where people come from, they are able to change their lives to exert a positive impact on behalf of others. Thus motivated to become an educator to help provide resources for learners of all ages and levels, Dr. Triplett eventually focused his efforts on an administrative level. In this capacity, he assists teachers, support staff and adminstrators in gaining the resources and skills they need to help students learn more effectively.
To prepare for his career, Dr. Triplett earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Lane College in 1993 and a Master of Social Work from Saint Louis University in 1997. In recognition of his excellent work for the schools, he received on two occasions an Outstanding Social Work Award in 1998 and 1999 from the St. Louis Public Schools. To expand upon his skillset, he attained a Master of Business Administration from Webster University in 2000. Staying within Saint Louis Public School District, Dr. Triplett was promoted to a program director in 2012 and a principal in 2015. While serving in these roles, he earned a Doctor of Philosophy in educational leadership from Capella University in 2013. During his tenure, he successfully increased student attendance at Charles Sumner High School from 31% to 78% in a single year, for which he received a proclamation from the Mayor of St. Louis and a resolution from the state senate for his work. After attaining his doctorate degree, Dr. Triplett served as an adjunct professor for Lindenwood University between 2013 and 2021. In 2018, he became the program director and administrator on special assignment for a year until becoming an assistant superintendent of leadership and accountability, as well as a Title IX coordinator for Riverview Garden School District. Following the conclusion of this role, Dr. Triplett functioned as the associate superintendent of learning services for Olathe Public Schools in 2021.
Since 2022, Dr. Triplett has worked as the assistant superintendent for Olathe Public Schools. In this capacity, he is responsible for operational oversight of various departments, including food, transportation and maintenance services, technology and due process hearings. He creates and implements creative weekly plans to optimize the utilization of the school staff for students to receive the same level of service, regardless of any staffing challenges. Dr. Triplett's main goal is to remove barriers and ensure that all teachers, students and staff have access to resources they need to do their work efficiently.
Looking toward the future, Mr. Triplett's aspiration is to engage in more consulting work and serve as a mentor and coach to executive leaders in order to help them transform into leaders that provide the best support to those that are under their supervision. Thanks to his journey as a student, teacher and administrator, he understands both worlds and has found that there is a middle ground they need to learn how to navigate for the sake of being culturally responsive to their students, all of whom have different styles of learning.
