An alumnus of the University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Kehr achieved a Bachelor of Arts in biology in 1971. He subsequently completed a Doctor of Medicine at Georgetown University School of Medicine in 1975. Additional training included a residency at Tufts New England Medical Center, and coursework and a training psychoanalysis at the Boston Psychoanalytic Institute. Dr. Kehr has been board certified in psychiatry and neurology since 1980.
As a part of his professional commitments, Dr. Kehr is a member of the American Psychiatric Association, the Maryland State Medical Society, and the Montgomery County Medical Society. He is also a former board chair of the Institute on Aging at the University of Pennsylvania.
