Jack (John) J. Kasulis is retired as University of Oklahoma Professor Emeritus and the Ruby K. Powell Professor of Marketing and Supply Chain Management.

Jack (John) J. Kasulis is retired as University of Oklahoma Professor Emeritus and the Ruby K. Powell Professor of Marketing and Supply Chain Management. He is a recognized academic, mostly known for his administrative efforts and faculty governance. He received his Ph.D. from Northwestern University in 1976, specializing in marketing and his M.B.A. and B.S., majoring in marketing from the University of Connecticut in 1972 and 1967 respectively. Prior to graduate study and assuming a faculty position at the University of Oklahoma (OU) in 1975, Kasulis worked as a sales representative with Sun Oil Co. and was enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served a two-year tour as a Military Policeman at the United States Military Academy in West Point, N.Y. His duties included serving at burial ceremonies in West Point's military cemetery, interacting with tourists and invited guests, and performing standard police work such as crowd and traffic control, as well as security and minor administrative functions.
While at Price College at OU, Dr. Kasulis served in numerous positions, including as Associate Dean under five different deans. He also served as Director of the MBA Program and as Coordinator of Business Advanced Programs which included offerings in Saudi Arabia, Panama Canal Zone, Norway, Washington, D.C. (Pentagon), Offutt Air Force Base (Nebraska), Ft. Sill (Oklahoma), and the OU Kellogg Continuing Education Center (Norman, Oklahoma). In addition, at different times, he served as Director of Executive Programs, Director of CBA Certificate Program in Management, Director of the OU/OSU Middle Management Program, and Senior Director of the Center for Healthcare Business. He also served for many years as Director of the Marketing and Supply Chain Management Division, one year as Director of the Division of Management, and one year as Interim Director of the Business Ph.D. Program.
For several years Dr. Kasulis was involved with the Graduate Management Admission Council, the owner and provider of the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT), the standardized test for admission to graduate school in business. The organization also was heavily involved in longitudinal and cross sectional research of management education issues, training for graduate business administrators, and supply and demand analysis for graduate management degrees. He served that organization as trustee, including as vice chair and chair, as well as on the Board of Trustee Standards Committee, Membership and Governance Committee, Strategic Planning Committee, and Committee on Trusteeship. He also served and chaired the Research and Test Development Committee at the time of the Educational Testing Service's inclusion of the first writing sample section for the GMAT test and the introduction of the first online version of the GMAT. Moreover, he chaired the Educational Programs Committee when the first comprehensive professional development program for business school admissions officers was developed. In addition, he served on a joint task force of the Association of Doctoral Directors of Programs in Business/Graduate Management Admission Council, Advisory Committee of the AACSB/GMAC National Doctoral Fellowship Program, and on the AACSB/GMAC National Advisory Panel on Graduate Management Education Innovation.
In addition to common faculty governance roles, Dr. Kasulis had extensive interaction with OU's Athletics Department. He has served three 3-year terms on the Athletics Council (OU's oversight committee of Athletics Department), twice as chair and vice-chair. Also, he served twice on Athletics Director Search Committees, three times on Athletics Dept. Budget Committees, on the Gender Equity Committee, and Donor Program Study Committee. Moreover, he served twice on OU's NCAA Certification Steering Committee and twice on OU's NCAA Certification Fiscal Integrity Committee, serving as chair each time.
Jack Kasulis is widowed and has four adult children and twelve grandchildren. His civic activities have included board membership on the OU Federal Credit Union (including assistant treasurer), Norman Optimist Foundation (roles as Vice President and President), Norman Optimist Club (roles as Treasurer and President), Oklahoma City Philharmonic (Advisory Member), and Oklahoma Higher Education Heritage Society (roles as secretary, Hall of Fame Committee, and Audit Committee). He has consulted with entities in the following organizations: electric cooperatives, heavy construction equipment, general merchandise stores, supermarkets, furniture stores, automotive stores, auto/truck travel stops, media, weather, city government, and hardware stores. He has published in over sixty-five publications and conducted twenty contract research studies and made numerous presentations. Dr. Jack J. Kasulis has been inducted into United Who's Who and Marquis Who's Who in America.
