Dedicated to the spiritual and mental well-being of his congregation, Mr. Hinton has served as a church leader for more than 20 years. Before venturing onto his vocational path, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Norfolk State University in 2004 and attained a Master of Arts in Theology and Christian Leadership from Grand Canyon Theological Seminary in 2021. While pursuing his education, he was ordained as a Deacon in 2001 and as an Elder at Full Gospel Deliverance Church of God in 2007. Mr. Hinton began his career as a Bishop for the Gethsemane Family of Churches and became the Senior Pastor of Bethel Temple Faith Church in 2015.
In his role as a Bishop, Mr. Hinton delivers sermons at his church and provides Bible study classes for his congregation. While attending to his recurring ministry-related activities, he functions as part of a group that serves as an ordaining council for other ministries, facilitating the church and the fellowship by ordaining Bishops, Pastors, Elders, and Deacons. In addition to his primary vocation, he is active as a co-chair for the Concord United Committee and as a chairperson for the Stormwater Management Advisory Board. In recognition of his civil action and services throughout his career, Mr. Hinton was honored with a proclamation from the mayor of the city of Concord in 2021.
Mr. Hinton was inspired to pursue a career in his faith by his mother, who contributed to their local ministry in his youth. Likewise, he drew from the influence of some additional family members, a few of whom are pastors. Out of a passion for mathematics, he originally started a career in finance before joining a ministry, discovering that the endeavor was far more fulfilling. Looking toward the future, he and his congregation are engaged in seeking approval for the establishment of a Community Development Corporation. Mr. Hinton is also exploring the development of a summer enhancement program for children, intending to expand the program into a charter school.
