KILLEEN, TX, May 31, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Lara Elizabeth Brown has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Ms. Brown is the founder of the Iron Gauntlet Brauhaus in Killeen, Texas, a woman-owned brewery that has become renowned for its large variety of craft beer. Located nearby a military base, her brew house serves as a venue where veterans, active-duty military personnel, and their families can relax and socialize. As head brewer since 2020, Ms. Brown serves many German-inspired recipe favorites and seasonal beers on tap. She also offers a mug club membership where repeat customers are assigned their own mug. Additionally, the brewery offers a happy hour on Thursdays and Fridays, live music, brewery tours, and private events for patrons.
Passionate about German beer, Ms. Brown spent time abroad in the country and, following her return to the U.S., began making her own German brews. After a year in the home brewing business, she established Iron Gauntlet Brauhaus. Looking toward the future, Ms. Brown aspires to expand her business by making some of her products available for purchase at the local H-E-B, which is a supermarket chain based in Texas.
Through her community, Ms. Brown has gained recognition for her service during 2021 for brain cancer research. That same year, she contributed significantly during Winter Storm Uri in Texas, during which time she was able to distribute approximately 70,000 gallons of water, 10,000 of which were boiled for 14 hours a day before being distributed to those in need. Moreover, Ms. Brown has donated to several other local and national charities, including Operation Phantom Support and Habitat for Humanity, and hosted a dog adoption event at her brewery for a local shelter, which resulted in the placement of 40 dogs into new homes.
A U.S. Army veteran, Ms. Brown served as a military police officer and as a dental technician during her service between 2006 and 2009. Shortly thereafter, she achieved a bachelor's degree at Kaplan University in 2010 and a master's degree in criminal justice at Colorado Technical University in 2014.
Ms. Brown is a professional member of the Texas Craft Brewers Guild and the Independent Craft Brewer Seal. Recognizing her success as an entrepreneur, she was featured in Tex Appeal magazine, while her brewery was highlighted in the Killeen Daily Herald as one of the Best Bars and Places to Have a Beer in Central Texas. She also received a Homebrew Award. For her contributions to Winter Storm Uri in 2021, Ms. Brown received a City of Killeen Award and a Congressional Recognition from Congressman John Carter.
