After working for Western New York Urology Associates for more than 15 years, Ms. Ehmke was introduced to essential oils by her daughter-in-law. She subsequently became fascinated by these products and began selling them at local craft and vendor shows. For five years, she worked independently out of her home before renting a location at what previously operated as a hair salon. In February 2019, Ms. Ehmke established Essentially Well Oiled in order to sell her own products and help other small, local business owners.
Through Essentially Well Oiled, Ms. Ehmke sells her homemade chocolates infused with vitality essential oils, custom roll-ons, goat's milk soap, aromatherapy bracelets and rings, essential oil diffusers and crystals, among other wellness products. In addition, she offers a number of locally-crafted products from Snow Child Apparel, Ulinger Maple Products, Linda's Handmade Cards, Fern Gully Gallery, Mags & Rose Country Mile Products, Fox Glove Pottery, plus much, much more. Although her career has been filled with highlights, Ms. Ehmke is especially proud of opening her store, with the support of her husband Fritz. Ms. Ehmke is also a proud mother and grandmother.
A member of the Better Business Bureau and two local chambers of commerce, Ms. Ehmke studied business at Erie Community College. In recognition of her professional accomplishments, she received the Business of the Year Award for Essentially Well Oiled from the Boston-Colden Chamber of Commerce only one year after the company's inception. Looking toward the future, Ms. Ehmke intends to maintain her storefront, expand her operations and hire a dependable team of employees.
