Driven by a passion for helping children and adults, which stemmed from discovering her own son's disability, Ms. Kennedy began her career as a WIC Director and EPSDT case manager for Park County. In this capacity, she was responsible for early periodic screening diagnosis and treatment. Throughout the course of her career, she gained valuable expertise in the field as a WIC program director for Park County and worked with a local public health organization for nearly a decade and a half. Supported by her outstanding body of work, Ms. Kennedy presently excels as the chief executive officer, president and owner of the Eagle's Nest Group Center.
Before embarking on her professional journey, Ms. Kennedy earned an associate degree from Penn State University. Alongside her work, she has donated clothing to those in need in Bailey, Colorado, donated food to Life Bridge Food Pantry and served as an advanced state instructor in CPR procedures for the local fire department, through which she also became the first woman firefighter in Federal Heights, Colorado. Moreover, Ms. Kennedy serves as an advocate for disabled children, and volunteers with Family Support Counseling in Colorado Springs.
For her professional achievements, Ms. Kennedy was named as the Firefighter of the Year in Federal Heights and received the Host Home Family of the Year Award. In accounting for her success, she credits her keen sense of persistence and determination, as well as the strength of her Christian faith. Among her career highlights, she is most proud to have been part of the first and only group home that offers day programs for medically compromised individuals in Park County, and to have received a plethora of support from the community. Looking toward the future, Ms. Kennedy intends to continue her advocacy and efforts to help children and families, particularly those who are disabled, underserved and less fortunate.
