Supported by years of expertise in consumer product design, patent writing and CAD engineering, Mr. Tarlow excels today as the president of the eponymous Tarlow Design LLC, which offers product design, prototyping, engineering, patenting and manufacturing assistance services. In his work, he maintains responsibility for contacting clients and updating them on what step of the production line their products are in, as well as managing the projects of other designers. Additionally, Mr. Tarlow is the facilitator of the Invention Convention Program at Neil Cummens School.
Prior to establishing his business, Mr. Tarlow gained valuable expertise in the field of product design as the director of design and engineering for Casablanca Fan Company. Likewise, he functioned as a senior project manager for Stansbury Company, the director of design for Intonation Systems and Veda Vision and as the director of day care center design for the Model Cities Program in the City of Bridgeport. Over the years, he also co-founded America Invents and T-2 Design Corporation. Throughout his career, he has achieved much, designing the original Turbo-Wash product for TurboTec, as well as a unique airplane entertainment headset for Audio in Motion. Currently, he is also developing a smart gas shutoff valve that senses an earthquake 20 seconds before it occurs and shuts off the gas to avoid fire and explosions.
An expert in his field, Mr. Tarlow holds a certification in advanced studies in the science of creative intelligence and a Bachelor of Science in industrial design from the School of Engineering at the University of Bridgeport. Driven to stay abreast of changes in the field, he aligns himself with the Industrial Designers Society of America. In conjunction with his work, Mr. Tarlow founded the Young Inventors of America and was the author of "Mind to Money: How to Invent, Develop and Profit from Your Product Ideas."
In light of his body of work, Mr. Tarlow was named in Who's Who of American Inventors and the Best 100 Residential Lighting Magazine, and has received more than 80 patents. He has developed over 1,000 products worth over one billion dollars in retail sales. He also won the Residential Lighting Top 100 Award, a Hilton Entrepreneurship Award through Loyola University, a Top 100 Award for the design of "Chute Lamp," the Best of Sausalito Award and the Best Industrial Design Company Award.
