Attributing more than 35 years of professional excellence in ministry, Dr. Brown is recognized as the fifth pastor to serve the New Mount Zion Baptist Church of Dallas. Raised by Christian parents, he realized his calling at the age of 10 and accepted the call to ministry at the age of 23. In addition to preaching, Dr. Brown became an instructor for the National Baptist Congress, where he dedicated more than 20 years of his career and notably taught a course called "Marriage God's Style" for more than a decade.
Deeply invested in his community, Dr. Brown's volunteer efforts include participation with various food banks, clothing and school supply initiatives, and vaccine drives. He also assists the homeless community in finding food and shelter. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Brown worked closely with the North Texas Food Bank and the Tarrant Area Food Bank in Fort Worth, where he helped to coordinate the largest food giveaway in their history. The event served more than one million pounds of food that day. Dr. Brown has also become very active in counseling those suffering from various forms of mental health issues, especially those struggling since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.
Dr. Brown is likewise active with the Dallas Baptist Ministers Union of Dallas and Vicinity, where he was unanimously elected as president. He also found success as the third vice moderator for the Greater Rising Star District Association, a former general secretary for the National Missionary Convention of America, and a member of the Dallas chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. In 2015, Dr. Brown authored "Activate Your Faith." The book was published through R.H. Boyd Publishing Corporation in Nashville, where he has been recognized as the youngest member of the organization's board.
Dr. Brown graduated from Navarro College in Texas with an Associate of Arts in business and computer science. He then studied at Andersonville Theological Seminary in Georgia where he obtained a Bachelor of Theology, Master of Theology and a Doctor of Theology.
Throughout his career, Dr. Brown has worked alongside his wife in many of his ministerial activities. The two were featured in a 2010 article in Trendsetter Magazine in recognition of their partnership, which was titled "Mixing Love and Business." In light of his many other contributions, he received a Martin Luther King Humanitarian Award, was honored as the Minister of the Year in Dallas by the Interdenominational Ministers Alliance, and was celebrated as a Game Changer by the city of Dallas. Furthermore, Dr. Brown was inducted into the Elite News Religious Hall of Fame in Dallas, and received a Humanitarian Award from the Top Ladies of Distinction in 2021.
