An expert in orchestral instruction, Mr. Zeleski has served as a dedicated music educator for more than 15 years. To prepare for his career, he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in music education from the University of Nebraska at Kearney in 2005 and a Master of Education in Leadership of an educational institution from the American InterContinental University in 2009. Well-qualified in his profession, he holds additional certificates in teacher leadership and school administration from universities in Nevada and Utah. While pursuing his education, he started his career as a freelance bassist performing and touring with local country, jazz, funk, and rock bands in both Nebraska and Las Vegas, Nevada where he also served as an orchestra teacher for the Clark County School District between 2005 and 2018.
Since 2018, Mr. Zeleski has earned distinction as the orchestra director for Millard West High School. In this capacity, he teaches high school orchestra and elementary classes for fourth and fifth grade orchestral music. He is also responsible for organizing concerts and other music events and is part of the district's curriculum development team, which is currently dedicated to restructuring the program for K–12 music education.
As part of his commitment to his profession, Mr. Zeleski serves as a member and secretary for the Nebraska chapter of the American String Teachers Association. He is also a member of the National Association for Music Education and the International Society of Bassists. To gain further expertise in his field, he has been accepted as a doctoral candidate at Kansas State University and in 2021 was inducted into the Phi Kappa Phi national honors society for educational merit.
Mr. Zeleski is also an accomplished athlete, holding a fifth degree black belt in taekwondo, is certified at a Master's rank in the Universal Taekwondo Association, and is currently training with Master Dan McCarthy at Zanshin Martial Arts, Omaha. He also owned the Cimarron Rose Taekwondo Academy in Las Vegas.
Looking toward the future, Mr. Zeleski intends to complete his doctoral degree while publishing articles in his field. His ultimate goal is to help orchestra students develop their skills throughout their education, and into adulthood with research and teaching focused on developing lifelong participation in music. Mr. Zeleski is also available to work as a music education consultant, assisting anyone who hopes to cultivate a passion for music.
